Four-day full training
Two-day training (June 18-19)
On June 18-19th, the topics will center on Dyslexia
Basics for the classroom teacher. Topics will include strengths and weaknesses of individuals with dyslexia, Orton-Gillingham teaching principles, characteristics of a dyslexia-friendly classroom/teacher as well as a wealth of ideas for teacher-created materials to address ways to teach the vocabulary of a subject and kinesthetic ways to teach map skills.
Two-day training (June 20-21)
One June 20-21st, the focus shifts to those who want a
deeper dive into how to help the dyslexic learners in their classrooms. Topics will include the brain science behind learning, teaching math to the dyslexic learner, methods for practicing spelling lists, methods for learning memory verses or poetry, policies and organization of a Dyslexia Friendly Classroom, teaching expository writing skills to dyslexic students, and strategies for helping dyslexic students master vocabulary words and definitions.
